Dear students,

as agreed, all presentations will take place next week in the following times:
1. Tuesday 3rd June, 13.00-16.00
2. Wednesday 4th June, 9.00-11.00

Please note that all groups must attend all presentations (in order to participate in the peer assessment and be rewarded) therefore you need to attend all sessions. The order in which the groups will be presenting their work will be determined at the beginning of the Tuesday session. You need to be there in order for your group to be included in the schedule.

Groups of students that wish to present their work must do it on one of the two days that will be devoted to oral presentations according to schedule.

You are reminded that each presentation must strictly not exceed 10 minutes - or you loose points. Oral presentation take up 20% of your overall mark.

Marking Scheme:
Written Project (40%)
Assessment will be based on the following:
1. use of resources (e-libraries, academic bibliographic databases) and exploitation of a variety of sources (journal papers, books, e-books, the internet, etc.)
2. acceptable use of the sources respecting the original and avoiding plagiarism
3. participation in the group forum (more than 20 constructive entries are expected from each member of the group) for the purposes of negotiation, communication, interaction, exchange of ideas, proposals, opinions
3. submission of all the intermediate assignments under "Εργασίες Φοιτητών"
4.submission of the final project (1500 words)
5. contribution to the peer assessment for the final project

Oral Presentation (20%)
Assessment will be based on the following:
1. Introduction
2. Content
2. Delivery
3. Visual aids
4. Conclusion

Final written exam (30%)
The parts of the exam will address the skills that have been acquired throughout the semester (summarising, paraphrasing, referencing, avoiding plagiarism, preparing effective presentations, etc).

Tuesday, 13th May: no class
Tuesday, 20th May at 13.00-16.00 : discuss feedback received from peer assessment (the draft written project should have been submitted by 19th May)

Dear all, you are reminded that our next class will take place on Tuesday 6th May, at 13.00-16.00, as normal. In addition, there will be a supplementary class the following day, Wednesday 7th May, 18.00-20.00.

Important: Check "εργασίες φοιτητών" and make sure you along with your group deal will the assignments, first through the "group forum" and then by submitting your final version under "εργασίες φοιτητών" .

About the 1st deliverable

As discussed and agreed during last class, you are expected to prepare and submit certain parts of the project completion procedure. These aspects/steps of the project should be negotiated openly among all group members through the group forums before being finalised and submitted (you are reminded that the use of group forum will be rewarded by extra credits).

Unfortunately, most groups do not seem to have started off, whereas there are some groups that really are models (e.g. group 4)! For those of you that have not got actively involved in the group forums and the procedure for the project completion: DO NOT FALL BEHIND! This course is about doing one step at a time, gradually developing our skills and building the final project, and not about submitting something you will prepare at the end of the semester! Because what is assessed and rewarded here is cooperation and negotiation skills (evident through group forums), successful completion of the set intermediate steps, development of academic performance.

Please check your current assignment under "εργασίες φοιτητών" and submit it on time after you have used your group forum to negotiate and agree with your partners.

Dear all,

as agreed on our last session, next time we meet is on 15th April at 13.00-16.00 which is our regular weekly class, and on 16th April at 18.00-20.00 as an extra one.

The computer lab is the place we meet, of course.

And make sure you have proceeded satisfactorily with your group tasks (interaction/negotiation through group forums on a) specifying the topic b) tracking down & exchanging bibliography and c) reading and note-taking the appropriate material to use in your project)!

the forum for groups is now ready to host you. If you don't remember the number that your group has been assigned, you can check it on the main (classroom) forum (page 3), and then enter "Groups" and select your group to chat with your partners, exchange documents and collaborate on project matters. The use of groups forums is considered imperative for the purposes of your project and will be rewarded. Collaboration should be evident and visible and take place out in the open so that everybody can consult other groups' forum and benefit. After all we are all ONE great team!

Καλούνται οι φοιτητές/τριες του μαθήματος να συμπληρώσουν άμεσα το ερωτηματολόγιο που βρίσκεται στα "Έγγραφα" του e-class. Απαιτείται είτε η ηλεκτρονική συμπλήρωσή και αποστολή του στο e-mail της διδάσκουσας (imamakou@uop.gr) είτε η εκτύπωση, συμπλήρωση και παράδοση ιδιοχείρως στην ίδια. Επίσης, μπορείτε να βρείτε εκτυπωμένο το ερωτηματολόγιο έξω από το γραφείο της κας. Μαμάκου (Α20) από Πέμπτη 13/3 μεσημέρι και να το συμπληρώσετε με προσοχή. Τα ερωτηματολόγια θα πρέπει να κατατεθούν έως την Δευτέρα 17/3 και είναι απαραίτητα για την συμμετοχή των φοιτητών στη διαδικασία του μαθήματος.

during the class of 4th April (first class of spring semester) students asked for the class of next Tuesday (11th April) to be cancelled. They suggested Monday 17th April 11.00-14.00 for a replacement, but as I see it now, Wednesday 19th April at 12.00-15.00 would be more convenient for me. Can we agree on that? Please confirm on the forum.
